About

In a lot of ways I'm a typical Southern American story--outwardly holding it all together while internally being eaten alive. I grew up in a mainstream Evangelical denomination, went to a college affiliated with that same denomination before finally serving as a missionary, again, with the previously mentioned denomination. It was a dream come true, finally laying it all on the line, risking life and limb to spread the Good News.

Some things happened, however, for which I was quite unprepared. I had never come to terms with a God who was different than the father that I always longed to impress. Nor had I fully understood the freedom to which we were called by His love. During this existential meltdown I began to understand more fully the Love that has captured me as well has the freedom to which I have been called.

These posts are further contemplations on these lessons of loving, living, and celebrating the beauty of life. I hope they will be as uplifting and challenging for you as they have been for me.
